The story of a French blogger in Fukuoka, Japan
Hello! My name is Bénédicte Charré and
I am a French web art director living in Fukuoka, Japan.
In 2012, I came to Fukuoka, a lovely and dynamic city in southern Japan, on Kyushu island.
Landed in Japan on a nice evening of September, I first improved my Japanese level at the Japanese section of the famous school Aso College Group. Today, I am working as an art work director in a Japanese compagny but I aim to work for Fukuoka PR, inbound or tourism.
My love story with Japan started around 10 years ago ! From 2006 to 2011, I travelled from Niigata prefecture to Iriomote Island in southern Okinawa. I felt in love with Kyushu and it is naturally that at that time I chose it to be my place to live. However, the decision of coming to Fukuoka was a result of an intense thinking and a risky decision as I only knew Hakata station !
After more than two years well spend here, I can say that I won't find a more wonderful place to live in. I feel so privileged to be able to live in such a lovely place.
Living in Japan allowed me to blossom, identify what I really like and what I want to do in from now. Passionate, determined and curious, I am always looking for new projects and ideas, to make my little part of Japan worldwide known.
Since 2011, I run a popular French blog about Fukuoka, Kyushu and my life here, which exceed 1500 single visits everyday for a total of more than 100k ! You are currently on the English version of the blog, launched in February 2015.
I was also a special correspondant for Fukuoka Prefecture Tourist Association, I participate to Fukuoka NEXT project and do various things to promote Fukuoka and Kyushu.
I have a lot of projects in mind to spread Fukuoka's and Kyushu's love to the world and promote things that I like. I am always looking for new challenges so feel free to contact me.
Welcome to my world !
